The State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Standardization Administration issued 14 new standards on April 9, 2020, including Hygienic Requirements for Ultraviolet Sterilizers and General Requirements for Air Disinfectants. These standards are organized and formulated by the National Health Commission and the National Food and Drug Administration, and mainly involve disinfectants, disinfection equipment, medical equipment and other epidemic control fields.
The new standard of "Ultraviolet Sterilizer Hygiene Requirements" (GB 28235—2020), which has attracted much attention from the LED industry, will come into effect in November 2020, officially replacing the "Ultraviolet Air Sterilizer Safety and Hygiene Standards" (GB 28235) issued in 2011. —2011).
Compared with the old version, the new standard has the following main changes and additions:
1. Wavelength range:
The scope of application of the old version of the standard is "ultraviolet air sterilizer with ultraviolet germicidal lamp, screening program and fan as components with the ultraviolet center wavelength of 253.7nm". The new version is changed to "Ultraviolet sterilizer with C-band ultraviolet (wavelength range 200nm-280nm) as the germicidal factor". The new version clarifies the band range. Most UVCLED products currently on the market can achieve the 260-280nm band, that is, this standard is applicable to UVCLED products. In other words, in addition to the traditional mercury lamp, UVCLED can also be included in the core components of the ultraviolet sterilizer.
2. Definition and name of ultraviolet germicidal lamp:
The old version of the ultraviolet germicidal lamp was defined as: "a special electric light source that directly uses ultraviolet light (with a central wavelength of 253.7nm) for disinfection purposes." The definition of the new version is changed to "special electric light source that directly uses ultraviolet light for disinfection purposes", and no longer emphasizes wavelength. In addition, the new version also adds the definitions of UV disinfection, UV disinfection, upper level flat UV air disinfection, UV effective dose, UV water disinfection and UV surface disinfection. The definition of UV disinfection products is more detailed and clear, for different In the field, different disinfection products should be used.
3. Deleted "Specifications and Classifications", "Names and Models" that do not belong to product safety and sanitation requirements:
Requirements for product specifications and naming are not product safety and hygiene requirements, so the new version does not make corresponding requirements in the standard. In addition, the product classification of the old version is mainly divided into wall-mounted, cabinet-type and mobile cabinet-type. With the introduction of UVCLED products, many sterilizers of different shapes have been developed, and the product classification of the old version is no longer applicable.
4. Modify the raw material requirements, and change the raw material requirements closely related to product effectiveness and safety indicators to mandatory requirements:
The raw material requirements of the old version belong to the sub-items under the technical requirements chapter, while the raw material requirements of the new version become a separate chapter. At the same time, it is stipulated that no matter what kind of sterilizer, it is emphasized that the ultraviolet lamp should use quartz glass or a raw material with an ultraviolet transmittance not lower than that of quartz glass. In addition, the raw material requirements in the old version are recommended, while the raw material requirements in the new version are changed to mandatory.
5. Modify the technical requirements and delete the electrical safety technical requirements:
The safety technical requirements in the old version stipulated that the sterilizer should be equipped with a 220V special power socket and should meet the requirements of GB 2099.1. In the actual application of UVCLED, the input power is not necessarily 220V. Some mobile sterilizers are only equipped with a low-voltage DC power supply and can work normally. Therefore, the new version deletes such related content.
6. Modify the content of the scope of application:
The old version of the sterilizer is used in medical institutions, production workshops with sanitary requirements, public places and family rooms that need to be sterilized, and indoor air disinfection under conditions. It can also be used under unmanned conditions. The scope of application of the new version is more detailed, describing the scope of application of air, water and surface sterilizers respectively.
7. Modify the content of the precautions and merge it with the label and instruction manual:
Some new content is added to the precautions. The old version focuses on air disinfection, while the new version also adds precautions for water disinfection and surface disinfection.
