Before understanding the relationship between the color temperature of LED plant lights and plant growth, let's first look at two concepts:

 

(1) Color temperature: Color temperature is a physical quantity used to define the color of a light source in lighting optics. Its meaning is to heat a certain "black body" to a certain temperature, and the color of the light emitted by the black body is the same as the color of the light emitted by a certain light source. At the same time, the heating temperature of the black body is the color temperature of the light source, referred to as color temperature, the unit is expressed in Kelvin, the symbol is "K", and 0℃=273.15K. Zero Kelvin is called absolute zero, when the kinetic energy of gas molecules is zero.

 

(2) Black body: Black body is an ideal object (Black body) defined by physicists and used as a standard object for thermal radiation research. The black body can absorb the external front electromagnetic radiation without any reflection or transmission. However, electromagnetic waves can be emitted, and the wavelength depends on the temperature of the black body itself. As the temperature rises to a certain level, it can emit visible light bands that are visible to the naked eye. Black changes to dark red, and then appears in orange, yellow, and white colors. It can be seen that the color temperature in the visible light range increases from warm to cold.

 

The color of the LED plant light is determined by the LED plant light beads. From the above two concepts, we can know that if the color of the plant growth light bead is red, the color when the temperature of the black body is nK is the same as the luminous color of the plant light bead. Then the color temperature of the lamp bead is called nK.

 

In an LED lamp bead, it can use its light-emitting principle to call out various colors, and its power, voltage, and current can be guaranteed to be unchanged. That is to say, under these conditions, the LED lamp bead can emit different color temperatures. The light. LED plant growth lights affect plant growth mainly due to light quality and light intensity, that is to say, the light emitted by the LED plant lamp beads is close to monochromatic light, and the virtual black body uses the temperature required for the color change of the composite light to achieve an excellent temperature. Now, it doesn't make any sense to use color temperature to measure the quality of an LED plant light.

 

But it is not to say that the growth of plants has nothing to do with color temperature. It can be understood that the growth of plants requires light of a certain color temperature, but the light of a certain color temperature is not necessarily what plants need to grow. In general, if white light is used to supplement light for indoor planting, its color temperature is about 5500-6000K, which is close to the color temperature of sunlight. This is also determined by the long-term growth environment of plants on the earth, but the most effective light for plant photosynthesis is the red and blue light in the visible spectrum.
