Experts from a certain agricultural university cultivated a batch of holly seedlings through cloning technology, and looked for the most suitable "nutrient light" for plant growth according to their growth status under different color light sources. Remember to see that the holly seedlings under the purple light are the tallest, but the leaves are small and the roots are shallow. They look like malnutrition. The seedlings under the yellowish light are not only short, but the leaves look lifeless. The holly that grows under the mixed red and blue light grows best, not only is strong, but the root system is also very developed. According to reports, the red bulbs and blue bulbs of this light source are configured in a ratio of 5-6:1. In addition to holly seedlings, experts also conducted light experiments with Phalaenopsis, Oncidium, strawberries, and tomatoes. The results prove that 5-6:1 red and blue LED plant lights are the most beneficial to plant growth.
At the exhibition held in Tokyo in 2016, the growth of three kinds of plants illuminated by different light colors was displayed. The pink color formed by the combination of a red LED with a wavelength of 630nm, a 430nm blue LED, and a combination of red and blue LEDs is used to irradiate seedlings of the same size. After 3 weeks, compare the growth of the seedlings. The results show that pink light irradiation is most helpful to promote plant growth. Plant growth does not require all wavelengths in visible light, but only absorbs light of specific wavelengths. For example, when plants undergo photosynthesis and flowering, the absorption peak of chlorophyll-red light near 660nm can promote growth. When the stamen is formed, blue light around 450nm can promote growth. Comparing the seedlings irradiated with three different light colors, the seedlings irradiated with the red LED plant light grew the slowest than the other two seedlings, and the whole was the smallest. Seedlings illuminated by blue LEDs have fewer leaves and are elongated overall. The seedlings illuminated by the pink LED plant light have larger leaves and the overall growth of the plant is balanced.
