led grow light full spectrum 5x5

With the development of science and technology, automotive lamps are constantly "evolving", but have you discovered that in this era when LED lights are flying all over the sky, the front fog lights of cars are still traditional halogen bulbs! Why not switch to an LED light source? Let's talk about this today.

Halogen fog lamps modified LED light source, in fact, more dangerous

In fact, many friends have such questions, the headlights, turn signals, and width lights are all LED, why the fog lights are still halogen! So I simply replaced the fog lamp with an LED light source, the reason is, "the halogen lamp is too dim"! In fact, this approach is not correct and unsafe.

Because for fog lamps, what is needed is not the brightness of the light, but the penetration ability of the light, so simply increasing the brightness and using LED light sources will not give more help to driving in foggy days, but will cause greater danger.

The role of the halogen lamp is to signal, not to illuminate

As we have said before, the role of car halogen lamps is not just for lighting. Fog lamps must first have strong penetrating ability and high recognition; secondly, fog lamps are required to hardly produce Tyndall effect, the light will not hit the fog and block the line of sight, but also can illuminate the ground nearby. This is the key to the difference between fog lights and other car lights, so fog lights can be counted as a kind of active safety configuration.

For example, the front fog lights of cars in the last century were generally yellow. However, nowadays, yellow fog lights are rare, and they have been replaced by relatively advanced halogen bulbs. The lighting color has also become warm white, which can provide auxiliary lighting for vehicles under the premise of meeting the conditions of fog lights.

The fog lamp design has strict requirements, do not modify it blindly

Therefore, for the design of fog lamps, there are high technical requirements for the range, angle, and brightness of the light, and it must not be modified casually.

For example, some netizens thought that the fog lamp was not bright enough, and replaced it with a xenon lamp. This way, the road ahead of you is indeed brighter, but it is also easy to illuminate others, and the effect is similar to turning on the high beam. It is too unethical to do so. In addition, strong light will produce diffuse reflection and Tyndall effect when encountering foggy weather, otherwise the front of you will be white and even more dangerous!

Ordinary LED lights have congenital defects and cannot be used as fog lights

Some friends may ask, can the LED light source not reach the required color temperature? Is the penetration of the LED light source not strong? What can halogen lamps do, but LED lamps can’t?

In fact, it is no problem to adjust the color temperature of many LED lights. For example, many household lights can adjust the temperature.

But the problem is that the LED lights we generally use are single crystal LEDs. The light passes through the powder and synthesizes a single color of light, instead of being emitted by the three colors of "red, green and blue" (the three primary colors can compensate for the continuous spectrum, explain Too complicated, I will discuss it in depth another day), so it is impossible to achieve continuity in the spectrum! In addition, the cost of the three-color LED lamp is very high, so it is not cost-effective to use it as a fog lamp.
